Fairtrade

The third world and fair trade

The coconut and palm oils that provide the basis for our products stem from agricultural communities located in underdeveloped countries.

Typically, these communities live far beyond any social standards we in the developed world would find acceptable. Workers labor under extreme conditions, yet still cannot support their families adequately. Serious deficiences in nutrition, housing and education are the rule. That's where the coconuts grow...

We chose not to support this system. We want the people involved in making our products to receive a fair return for their labors. Therefore, we import our vegetable oils directly from so-called "fair trade projects" located in Brazil and the Dominican Republic.

These projects are designated to eleminate exploitive labor practices, and provide workers an their families a higher standard of living.
